Mariosyte (v0.01)Released: 8-22-01
This is my first demo. I recently added gravity simulation, which allows Mario to jump, and fall. Also added since last release:
  • Animation
  • Running(Hold B button)
Next I'll have to work on backgrounds, which could take a while.

GBA MIDI Player8-30-01
This is a midi player I wrote in about 3 hours(and the first demo I've ever wrote with sound). It shows my lovely logo(see screenshot), and plays a remix of Tetris 'Music C' (NES). At this point, it'll only play one channel. But it can easily play all 16 midi channels if needed. The player can also be edited to play the midi in stereo.

It's available for download(click the link above), so go ahead and try it out. Go on.. you know you want to! ;)

Mariosyte (v0.02)Unreleased
Added a simple background and crappy collision detection. Needs to be fixed before release. I also made Mario a bit faster. He was way too slow in v0.01, even when played on hardware.

I'm amazed at how much progress I've made in such a short ammount of time. At this rate, perhaps the first level will be completed within the next few weeks!

[Update]: I added the rest of the tiles to the first screen of BackGround 0, and as a result, there's a funny bug in my collision detection engine... Mario can walk around on top of the hills and bushes now. A very minor bug, easy to fix, just thought you'd get a laugh out of it. I know I did.
I also added more tiles to BG0 that you can't see, because I haven't implimented horizontal scrolling yet. However, vertical scrolling is working, and it's about 80% complete. Right now you can only scroll 32 8x8 tiles vertically, I'll have to make it scroll a LOT more than that. It'll be simple add, and it'll be able to scroll tons of tiles when it's finished.

Still no BG animations('?' blocks), and no hitting blocks with your head!

The Dawn of TimeUnreleased
Originally designed as a 3D Action-Adventure RPG for PC, The Dawn of Time may actually see the light of day afterall; on GBA. Named after a good friend of mine at Gameshark Central.

In TDoT, you take on the role of an apprentice in medievil times. As the hero, your job is to kick some evil ass as you travel through time, creating a paradox where anything is possible.

PerfectSharkUnreleased
A one-on-one fighter making use of members at Gameshark Central. The game will feature hordes of GSC members for you to play as, or destroy at your will.

This game also began on PC. The programming was taken as far as the intros and title screen, but a lack of graphics killed the project(The Dawn of Time met the same fate before any work was done on it).

CheatahUnreleased
OK, Gameshark fans, take a guess what this one is... :)
A cheat device for GBA, to be used with the Flash Advance carts. Someday, it'll be better than the upcoming Gameshark and CodeBreaker devices for GBA.. Right now, it looks kinda crappy, running only in text mode. Maybe I'll add some sort of simple interface before releasing it.

Features:
  • Screen fade
  • Simple text printing - anywhere on screen
  • Simple controls - Left/Right: select character, Up/Down: change character
I still have to create a usable interface, and more importantly, figure out a way to write to RAM at 6 times per second(or more) while playing the game of your choice. And I need to learn how to multiboot(eg. gamepack 2.0 multiboot ROM for Flash Advance). If anyone has any details on multiboot, I'd be much interested in learning.
(I'm Parasyte on GSC's UBB. Please contact me if you can help!)

[Update]: Very purdee new boot screen, many thanks to Bu||et!
